Meghan, Joelle, Julia ...
Yeppers Its me - you will all know me from Equus Unlimited.
The one and same EU that died a 'slow painful death' as Joelle so aptly put it in her intro.
I also played here about a year ago, with some of my EU horses, but I can't remember what my account name was, so its easier to just start fresh.
To catch those up that don't know...
My name is Beth, and I run/ran what was Equus Unlimited (what is the correct word for describing a sim game that has been properly grieved over, buried, and is in our memories now?)
Equus Unlimited was founded in 2003, and was one of the original message board type sim horse games on the net. I wasn't the first owner / president, I was actually the 3rd, but I can claim that I had it the longest, with the longest active run in the games history. I brought in the correct people to make the game automated, and had the time of my life with it. Unfortunately though, Equus Unlimited had always been plauged with troubles, my computer crashed and I lost all backups 2ce before purchasing an external storage hard drive for the files, we had a past member of admin pull all scripts and purposely crashed the site until we could get it rebuilt over a year later, and just one thing after another.
I somehow always managed to pull it through and rebuild its numbers until 18 months ago, when I lost my personal laptop to an accident where my kids broke it. We had just introduced several new things into the board / game, including the All-Sim section. Unfortunately the All-Sim portion of the game failed, and it affected the whole board. It was several months later when I realized that my laptop wasn't fixable, and I had to purchase another. That rendered me unable to log in on a regular basis and I could not any longer admin the game as it needed. More time passed, and my members started to migrate to all-sim.
I let it go for almost a year longer than I should have. It was earlier this month that I finally decided to put EU to rest for good.
However, my horses, some of whom I've had for almost a decade, need a new place to show after almost 2 years of layoff.
I should also mention *clears throat proudly* I created Batman originally back in 2005 in the middle of the night when I was searching for the PERFECT stallion. I found him and introduced him into EU later that year. He was an instant hit then, and that was before he was the star he is now.
I never intended on selling him, but Joelle just wouldn't accept NO for an answer ;D so finally I gave in and sold her a half share. It took a lot of convincing on her part though, and I have to give her kudos for hanging in there and not giving up on what she wanted. When things crashed for the last time in EU, I sold the other half to her because I knew he'd be in a much better show home where he could really shine. I wasn't going to be able to show him like he needed to be, and she was willing to take that over and manage him properly.
I have kept up on his progress and I couldn't be prouder to see what she has done with him. He has become the shining star I envisioned that night long ago. I feel like the proud grandparent in a way!

So thats where I come from in Sim ... In real life I am a divorced adult woman somewhere between 18 and 40 , with 2 kids in elementary school.
I work as the assistant manager and trainers assistant for Rancho de Esperanza Paso Fino horses. The job actually keeps me very busy, but with summer coming up here in Phoenix, we kinda shut halfway down in a way for the heat. We ship some of our horses out of state and our trainer is following them, so between having only half our show horses on the property and the early morning / evening work schedule, I should have a ton of time this summer to get my stable back firmly in the show scene.
www.scottsdalepasofino.com is our website. On News and Events page (not the one labeled with the 2) check out the 2009 Fun Show pictures ... in the large group pic I'm in the middle in the green shirt/tan hat next to Cool EDDIE there. (he's a story in himself lol.) I'm also in a few other pictures scattered about.
I had a typical horse crazy kidhood, lessons, a few shows sprinkled in, owned 2 old campaigners that are both over the rainbow bridge now. Did Trail horse training for other people for a few years, then made the horrible mistake of getting married cause I got preggers. Horses ceased to exist for me then except in Sim, and thus began my Sim obsession.
I now own one horse, a tank-type quarter horse ex-broodmare whom I have no idea if shes registered or not. I'll tell her story later on in another post, but she's about 13, and I am in the process of retraining her to be an english horse. She had been broken out as a younger horse but her training had so many holes it could have been swiss cheese. I am now trying to fill in those holes and make her so my kids can ride her in a few years as she gets older, and THEY get older.
I also have 3 large floppy, dopey, dorky, St. Bernard / Germ. Shepard Mixed dogs. 2 are full brothers / litter mates that are about a year old, and the 3rd is their younger female 'cousin'. (The stud dogs were litter mates.) We ended up with the boys as rescues from a house in the neighborhood that they had been abandoned in as nursing pups. The female was from the same family but was born in another house, whom looks so identical to her older cousin that we couldn't say no to her.
I won't bore you all any more, but sometimes I have a lot to say .
Look forward to meeting you all, and getting my horses back out and working!
